West River Valley Thrives Partnerships

Thrives is a partnership of organizations, municipalities, businesses and individuals, that work together to make a Collective Impact.

Thrives hosts regular partnership meetings that provide an opportunity for networking, strategic planning, problem solving, education, and evaluation. All are welcome at these meetings.

Community Hope & Action

Thrives is a part of the exciting Community Hope and Action collaborative initiative in the West River Valley that began in December 2014 after the violent deaths of community members in August and November of that year.

VISION:

A community where people work together to experience and celebrate life to the fullest

MISSION:

Instilling hope by creating opportunities to support and connect everyone within our community

GOALS:

    1. Increase the social connectivity and sense of hope in the community through weekly open meetings and monthly community meals and concerts
    2. Empower people to access the help they need by disseminating a guide of resources for basic needs, crisis intervention, metal health intervention, and family supports

Numerous individuals and the following organizations are involved:

Townshend Fire Department, Townshend Library, Townshend Masons, Townshend American Legion, West Townshend Community Project, Townshend Business Association, Townshend Elementary School, Leland and Gray Union High School, Vermont Department of Health, Health Care and Rehabilitative Services, Grace Cottage Hospital, Calvary Chapel, Our Lady of the Valley Church, and The Townshend Church.

Organizations involved:

Food Connects, Grace Cottage Hospital, Jamaica/Wardsboro Food Shelf, Townshend Food Shelf, West River Community Project, Leland and Gray Middle and High School, The Abby Group, Kindle Farm School, Winston Prouty Center – Department of Children and Families, FireBelly Farm, VT Department of Health, Unite Way of Windham County, Windham Central Supervisory Union, Senior Solutions, Meadow Bee Farm, Hunger Free Vermont.
