The Above the Influence group is at it again this spring, raising awareness about youth substance abuse, peer pressure, bullying and other important topics around their home towns as well as in Northampton, Mass. In April, the group once again travelled to local liquor retailers for “sticker shock” during which they plastered beer boxes with stickers that implore folks not to provide to minors. In May they took a field trip to Northampton for “Tag It”. For this event, each student created a poster representing what they are “above”. Some examples included bullying, peer pressure and marijuana. They then found examples of these things around town and snapped photos of each other!
