“The mission of CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) is to strengthen the capacity of community coalitions to create and maintain safe, healthy and drug-free communities globally.  This is accomplished by providing technical assistance and training, public policy advocacy, media strategies and marketing programs, training and special events.

Since 1992, CADCA has demonstrated that when all sectors of a community come together — social change happens. CADCA is the premier membership organization representing those working to make their communities safe, healthy and drug-free. We have members in every U.S. state and territory and working in 23 countries around the world. Special programs within CADCA are supporting our returning veterans and their families and training youth leaders to be effective agents of change –all through the coalition model.”  Ref: https://www.cadca.org/about-us

West River Valley Thrives is a member of CADCA, using its resources, personnel expertise, training opportunities, and the network of its national and worldwide coalitions to assist us to effectively achieve our vision and mission.

What are West River Valley Thrives’ vision and mission?

Our Mission:  To create opportunities for meaningful contributions to support and promote healthy lifestyle choices with an emphasis on the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use by young people.

Our Vision:  West River Valley community members thrive and are committed to healthy choices and well-being.

As CADCA states, we cannot accomplish our goals in isolation. A healthy community needs the active involvement of all sectors, where we all come together to create positive social change.
