According to the 2015 Youth Risk Behavior survey, 1 in 4 high school students in the WCSU have smoked marijuana in the past 30 days. The good news is, this number has decreased slightly since 2013. The bad news? 25% of kids is still a high percentage!

Marijuana use has certainly become increasingly normalized in the past few years in Vermont and across the U.S. However, please understand that marijuana use by youth can be very detrimental to a teen’s brain development. Marijuana use can impact working memory and learning for the long term as well as coordination and judgement while a person is under the influence.  Also important to note is the fact that the percentage of THC in marijuana has increased significantly over the past few decades.
